2ne1 I Am The Best Hidden Symbolic Meaning To Feminism and Self Expression

Okay, I miss the boat when YG finally release 2ne1’s MV for “I Am The Best.” Their current single has all-kills in South Korea on digital sales but hasn’t trend on iTunes. The current attitude for international Blackjacks is to trend the video but not the actual digital single. That alone I’m totally confuse by since its vital for foreign group to have some level of success on iTunes not just Youtube and Twitter.

I find the song okay and has a strong catchy dance beat. The primary focus is the hook as 2ne1 chants “I Am The Best” creating a foundation for the song. Although the delay of the single and MV this was still  highly anticipated. I found it to be whether average at first glance. The song is typical and extremely generic but when I look closer at the MV. The hidden message is becoming very clear.

The lyrics within this song isn’t strong but imagery in the MV tells the whole story without making it seem major. At first feels  like another generic K-pop MV with cool fashion, some dancing and 2ne1 changing their image again. But when you start to decipher  the symbolic meaning it has a much more deeper than the lyrics themselves

So here is my interpretation of 2ne1’s recent MV

CL 2ne1

The obvious, CL reference “Billion Dollar baby’ who was a real female boxer. CL’s belt reads “WW Champ or World Wide Champion.”

Park Bom

Park Bom walks with a puddle on a leash, meaning to her status quo. Touching ground to Minzy’s “Can’t Nobody” doberman. The dog breed doberman is a known attack dog while the puddle is a high fashion show case dog. This is symbolic to Park Bom image of being feminine but she has it on a leash. This could be a message of other female groups who are used for “show” how Bom isn’t like them.

CL 2ne1

CL is wearing a stray jacket and behaving wildly. This means CL is being contain and wants to break free. Overall how she is breaking free from the image of K-pop wants her to be. This could also mean to other females who do not relate and feel under control.

2ne1

The symbolic meaning of triangle is one of controversy and depending on usage varies. The triangle is associated religiously to Satanism (Illuminati), Buddhism, and Christianity. With an eye on top “Eye of Providence” or “all-seeing eye” in Buddhism “Eye of the World.” The triangle was also used as prosecution against by the Nazis when labeling homosexuals and bisexual in WW2. When turn upside down and/or pinked color dubs as triangle feminism as well for homosexuality.

The triangle used in 2ne1’s video meaning to prosperity and rule “2ne1 is ruling K-pop”

2ne1

The triangle illuminates colors of pink or red to white. 2ne1 is changing “pink” feminism, “red “war and/or passion” and “white” purity or death.

Blindfold drummers surrounding the triangle and 2ne1  are the Blackjacks who follow or worship them. The Blindfold means they only follow them musically with no discrimination.

2ne1

2ne1 gun usage is of liberation the broken mirrors of them breaking free from K-pop, their former image and self. Destroying their former triangle.

New mirrored triangle emerge with the new 2ne1 reflecting light meaning they are to anyone and for everyone.

I love to hear about feminists in modern day popular music. Frank Sinatra was one too, I believe.

I think you took the title too literately; this interpretation is weak. There’s something very creepy about that video.

    I am a fan of them ,
but this MV is very suspicious, makes me wondering are they “Illuminati” since i saw the last figure,
they were standing in front of the triangle.
i thought East Asia would be free from Illuminati things, but i guess I got it wrong.

You kknow what… There are still some missing parts in the video that have not been discussed. Ex; one of the 2NE1 member wearing a t-shirt with a FETISH written on it. The hair do at the staircase that represent the horn of Baphomet etc etc… This video is completely evil

Creepy just like other illuminati’s artists video. Full of illuminati symbolizing not just pyramid, there also “hidden one eye”, butterfly, Star of David, horn of Baphomet, n words “The World is Mine”. It seems not just symbolic feminism and self expression, i think more than that…maybe like expression illuminati’s agenda…

Lol. Isn’t the Star of David a jewish thing? Are you saying the Jews are illuminati? I get what you mean by everything else, but in the end, THEY’RE JUST SYMBOLS. Symbols aren’t going to make people parade around in the woods making blood sacrifices to the devil.

    Hey Spazifyouwantto,
Speaking of which, The music of the Freemasons- especially The Magic flute contained musical phrases and forms that held specific semiotic meanings. What are the hidden meanings behind it? This is pretty interesting-
    I managed to search 2 ideas :-

    1) For example, the Masonic initiation ceremony began with the candidate knocking three times at the door to ask admittance. This is expressed musically as a dotted figure. Interesting ?

    2) The use of suspensions to indicate friendship and brotherhood; the use of three-part harmony to emphasize the special significance of the number three in Freemasonry; and special rhythms and harmonies to signify fortitude and other attributes.
Can anyone enlighten me on how does a suspension indicate friendship and brother hood , etc?

    3) Can anyone think of any other hidden symbolic meaning waiting to be unveiled in Mozart’s Freemason ( or non Freemason ! ) music?
    Thanks

I don’t have internet at home but “Ugly” bothers me a whole lot also. Certain scene just seem odd. Especially part when they spray paint the girls black. To take away their identity then they girls started to dance around them while 2ne stands on a stage. That scene makes no sense and seems to provoke worship then embrace.

They sold their souls to the illuminati for more fame. Only denials and blindness do not see which side they are on.

Yes,yes, its evil, 2ne1 sold their souls for fame, listening to them or liking them will corrupt you and sell your soul to the devil. Like seriously.
They’re just SYMBOLS. 2NE1 always wear weird clothes and have different hair. You know seeing a pentacle isnt going to make people strip naked in the woods at midnight and dance around a blood circle while chanting dark evil words right.

The Illuminati (plural of Latin illuminatus, “enlightened”) is a name given to several groups, both real and fictitious. Historically the name refers to the Bavarian Illuminati, an Enlightenment-era secret society founded on May 1, 1776 to oppose superstition, prejudice, religious influence over public life, abuses of state power, and to support women’s education and gender equality

So being anti Illuminati is like… Superstition and prejudice is good. Religion should rule the world. Bribery and abusing state power? Oh perfectly fine. Educating women? EVIL. Having women on the same level as men? EVIL.
So. Even if 2ne1 IS illuminati. It doesnt matter. Because by what i’ve just read illuminati is better anyway.

A little comment on the beginning of the MV: CL is actually holding the WWE Title, which is the most prestigious title in the WWE. They also have an [unofficial] “million-dollar championship” belt, but that isn’t the one shown in this MV.

I don’t believe in illuminati but there are certain songs, music vids that just scare the hell out of me, like 2ne1’s “Come back home” or there is another, can’t remember the name of the artist neither the song.F(x) Red Light video also is creepy, although I really like the song.I don’t know…there are some things that just don’t feel right. We’ll just wait and see.Till then I’ma just listen to songs like “In the club”-2ne1, “1, 2,3”-Purfles, etc.Songs without much symbolism, which are truly about love, be it a good or negative experience, but innocent and real.
